The situation

BaseStack runs esports venues in Poland and Germany. It makes money from online sales, its shops, business clients, events and bookings at the venues. No single report showed all of that, so it was hard to know what was driving growth, and the budget was tight.

First, find out what drives sales

We tracked every source we could: each marketing channel, footfall at the venues and in-store sales. Putting them side by side showed which activity was bringing people in, so the tight budget went where it worked. We also built a breakeven calculator, so every campaign had a clear cost per sale it needed to beat.

Give gamers a reason to visit

A venue sells time at its screens, so people need a reason to book. We built a calendar of things to come in for: weekly tournaments and themed nights for FIFA, Counter-Strike, Valorant and Fortnite, an after-school gaming club, an esports training camp and birthday parties. Most had their own ads and emails.

A new venue, in two languages

When BaseStack opened in Dortmund, we made the launch ads in German and English. Each ad sold one part of the visit: the gaming PCs and their specs, the console zone, the café, the tournaments, the streaming booths and the location.

Every channel, one plan

We led Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn ads, alongside email, influencers and creative. Every channel was judged against the same sales data, so no platform could claim credit on its own report.

Why it worked

Seeing footfall and in-store sales next to every channel put the tight budget where it worked. The breakeven calculator gave each campaign a cost per sale to beat. The calendar of tournaments, themed nights and parties gave gamers a reason to book, and most events had their own ads and emails to sell them.
